Blue Empowerment (BE) Project

The BE Project supports climate-smart IMTA interventions to improve productivity, environmental sustainability, and livelihoods for women and youth in fisheries and aquaculture.

Donor-ready reportingPrivacy-firstEvidence for advocacy
Site-specific monitoring
Collect temperature and water-quality indicators to support weekly decisions and reduce losses.
Alerts & thresholds
Prepare for SMS/WhatsApp alerts when conditions go outside safe ranges (Phase 2).
Community ownership
Data is stored, accessed, and governed with communities at the center.

Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA)

Fish, seaweed, and marine ecosystems working together. Nutrients from fish support seaweed growth, helping maintain balanced waters and stronger yields.

Healthy Waters

Balanced systems support water quality and resilience across seasons.

Seaweed Growth

Seaweed benefits from nutrients, improving productivity and livelihoods.

Data-driven Decisions

Weekly monitoring supports evidence-based actions for farmers and technical staff.

How it works

Designed for reliability: the system can store and display records locally, and sync when internet is available.

1
Sensors read water
Temperature, pH, salinity, turbidity at IMTA sites.
2
Data is recorded
Stored continuously (offline-first design).
3
Dashboard displays
Farmers and staff view records on phones/laptops.
4
Optional sync & reports
Upload summaries weekly and generate donor-ready outputs.
